Getting Books

Interlibrary Loan

Pawnee Public Library, in conjunction with Rolling Prairie Library System, provides the opportunity for its patrons to borrow books for two-week periods from other Illinois libraries through the Interlibrary Loan Program. Once a request is received and processed, delivery time can be anywhere from a few days to a month depending on the library the book has been requested from. (Brand new books might take up to six months.) Deliveries are made to the library on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and patrons are phoned with notification of arrival or unfilled requests.

Reciprocal Borrowing

In person, your Pawnee Public Library card will be honored at any RPLS library through the Reciprocal Borrowing Program. These libraries exist in all or parts of the following counties: Christian, Cumberland, DeWitt, Douglas, Effingham, Logan, Macon, Mason, Menard, Moultrie, Piatt, Sangamon, and Shelby.
